I’m also running them with old gen M8000 XT Calipers and RT-MT800 203mm rotors and these have gobs of power with no fading over long, steep descents here in Pemberton BC.

The only negative to these is weight. (Although I’d argue the cotter pin vs bolt is a negative) But the weight difference in claimed weight is for a set that includes the rotor “The recommended rotor for XT brakes is RT-MT800 while the recommended rotor for SLX is SM-RT70” I know you didn’t test them but what’s the difference between the rotors and why are they spec’d that way?
it not really fair to say these brakes are heavier since it’s only then rotor that’s heavier (minus the 2g stroke plug that’s useless anyway )
When you say the TRPs are 130g lighter is that the claimed weight with rotors or actual weight of caliper, hose, and master cylinder?

I guess I wouldn’t have to if I ever looked at the pads once in a while. 🙂

You can run a 3mm tap through the hole and use the threaded pins.

Trail side pad changes? You carry brake pads on rides?
