Mountain Biking Beacham Trail

****   Add a review
#40 of 165 mountain bike trails in Arkansas
#2,601 in the world

Beacham Trail is one of four trails in the Lake Leatherwood Park. The trail surface is mostly hard packed with some sections of rock ledges. The terrain is mostly level with short ascents & descents. Most of the trail can be ridden by beginners with some technical sections also. The trail can be ridden in either direction, I prefer to ride clockwise.

By far the most complete real mtn bike trails in NWA. The rocky road is a waste of time. It seems to be built for emergency access only. Start on the single track by the boat launch. Very challenging and not for begginers or one time riders. Many roots, ledges, planted rocks, and hard climbs. The more you ride this trail, the better it gets!

I gave this trail a 2 because of the great scenery. The major problem with this trail is the lack of flow, which is required for a trail to be a true MTB trail. Without flow and proper grade % it is simply a hiking trail and this is the case with all the trails surrounding Lake Leatherwood. So if your planning a trip to the area please take my advice and leave your bike at home and just hike the trail. It does make a pleasant hiking trail.

This a really fun trail to ride, not real long but still fun to ride. There is not much in the way of climbing but the trail does offer up some technical ridding especially over on the backside of the lake. For more information go to www.mtbark.com

We wrode this after it poured rain for 2 days so it was very wet. With all of the rock and tree roots on the trail it made for a very slippery ride. Just a heads up i wouldnt recommend riding directly after a big rain here. Otherwise it was a nice trail and very prettu.

This is a great trail to ride for most any skill level. It's very scenic and a good ride when it's hot because you can jump in the lake after your ride. Lots of roots and hard pack with a few creek crossings.

Just a all around good trail, has about everything you could ask for. This trail is a bit on the hard side if your just a beginner. However this was the first real trail i had ever done and i was already getting the hang of it the second time through, and clockwise is for sure the best way to go on this trail.

This is a nice trail, but not "easy" as rated in the first review. Lots of loose rock, ledges, and roots. Combine with leave-cover, and what you've got is a trail that's a bit more difficult. Great scenics, tho!

This trail is a pretty fun ride with a nice view from the Limestone Dam. For a more technical ride... try starting on Fuller Trail which joins up with Beecham... as the beginning of Beecham is not singletrack. For the more advanced riders, Twin Knobbs trail at Lake Leatherwood is pretty sick!! I did it counterclockwise and the climb up at the beginning kicked my &^*%. I would rate Lake Leatherwood as a whole, one of the greatest riding spots in NWA, go check it out!!!
