Mountain Biking Power Creek Road

  Add a review
#45 of 63 mountain bike trails in Alaska
#17,549 in the world

This ride leaves right out of Cordova's back door, follows the northern shore of lake Eyak and then parallels the creek up to a small hydro-electric plant deep inside a canyon. A relatively flat ride through a rainforest setting passing several waterfalls as you inch your way into the coastal Chugach Mountain Range. The southern exposure of the mountains and the amount of wildlife makes this a fantastic morning ride. During the summer and fall when there are salmon in the lake/creek this is a popular bear feeding area, especially along the creek at the head of the lake.
There is a small number of residences along the road within the first 3 miles but after that the only traffic you will encounter is other locals enjoying the wilderness, this is also a popular route with joggers and dog walkers.
