Take I-20 to Heflin and follow Hwy 9 north toward piedmont. After about 10 miles Turn right onto joseph springs motorway for trailhead. Parking is across hwy 9 on the right at the hunters camp.
This trail is no longer here due to logging
| ThankFound "parts" of this trail while riding today but it looks like the majority of it has been wiped out from bulldozers and loggers. I saw several signs that seemed promising but only ever found about 1 mile of actual trail. IF, there is still a trail out there, it looks like you might want a local to show you around so you can follow it.
| ThankI went looking for these trails today and couldn't seem to find any singletrack. I had a map with me but everywhere I tried to get on the trail either the trail wasn't there OR it was an ATV-type trail. I did find a tiny bit of singletrack (less than 1/4 mile) on the east side of Hwy 9 but it quickly looped back to the fire road. Anyone know if these trails are still around?
| ThankThis was one of my favorite trails and has recently been messed up. The second half of the trail (the same side of hwy 9 as the hunters camp) has been logged and bulldozed. This is a serious bummer. The first half is still a good place to ride, but this cuts the distace to probably 3-4 miles in total. On a positive note, locals are really working hard to get this trail back to what it was.* Review edited 4/3/2009
