Mountain Biking Cottage Hill Park

#66 of 97 mountain bike trails in Alabama
#8,672 in the world

The trails are very limited, and excellent for families. One set of trails shares with a frisbee golf course. Excellent for the beginner just wanting to strech his/her legs for the first time.

This is not really a mountain bike trail. These are wooded walking trails. You will have foot traffic to deal with and non-directional trails that are not mapped. It is a typical city park with wooded trails. There are some washes to contend with and some small hills.

I rode this trail last summer once. I'll never ride it again. No elevation change, a lot of roots, and isn't very well marked. I've ridden other trails that are pretty flat that were still fun, I don't mind roots at all, and I've had a lot of fun getting lost on an unmarked trail - so none of those things necessarily have be to bad things, but I couldn't find anything fun about it. In short, its too flat and straight to be exciting but too bumpy to be a nice easy ride.

This trail was not an established enough for my taste. Just when things were warming up it was over.
