    I ride these trails frequently and thoroughly enjoy them. The system is comprised of 5 trails which are numbered on the trail signs. No. 1 (Black Creek Loop) is a nice green trail with a hairpin at each end. The trail is smooth with some decent climbs and some really nice fast sections that can be pumped to maintain speed. No. 2 (Black Creek Link) is a short connector trail between the lower and upper parts of No. 1. Great for a shortcut to get back to other trails. No. 3 (Black Ridge Loop) is a great blue trail and starts with a climb in either direction however the climb is easier going clockwise. This trail rides the ridge in the middle of the park and has some nice switchbacks for practicing cornering and bike handling. The descents in either direction are super fun as well. Descending clockwise is more technical while going counterclockwise is more flow. Both are a lot of fun and I suggest trying it each way. No. 4 (Creekview Loop) is the most technical trail here. It has several rock gardens and technical climbs. it also has some rock features to test your skills. If you want some tech challenges, this is the trail. Lastly, No. 5 (Ridge Creek Connector). This is the downhill trail. If you want a fun fast descent to really push your skills then Climb up N0. 3 going clockwise and take the first left. There will be a sign on your right hand side and riders often stop here for a breather. This downhill trail is steep in places but very fun and has two rock drops that can be bypassed (one is for the other direction though). This trail can also be connected to No. 4 and No. 1 for a nice long run to push your endurance.

    Overall, this is a great trail system and is well maintained. I highly recommend checking it out!

    Its perfect for what it is. If you are familiar with this area of Hoover then you'll be just as surprised as I was to hear that there are roughly 6 miles of MTB only trails nestled beside the Hoover Met.

    This isn't a state park with ranging terrain options, janky climbs, machine groomed flow, or hero-dirt-laced singletrack. This is a great option for a quick ride within the city with 3 manageable, punchy options for a quick climb to the top with deceivingly fun downhill options. I would recommend checking this out if you don't have the time to get into Oak Mountain and make a big day but want to get a ride in. The more you ride the trails the more side hits, alternate lines, and session-able sections you'll find. And its free and well maintained.

    I love these trails. Most are pretty flowy and not very difficult. Its a good place for beginners and lower intermediate riders. Trails are hard pack clay and sand. There is a bit of tech on some of the trails and a few rock gardens here and there and some tight squeezes between 2"-3" trees but nothing real advanced. No bridges but a few rock features that are optional. Overall, great experience for a beginner like me.

    Today, an hour after storms rolled through I greeted 75 degree breezy weather. It's my first time on these brand new trails. Very few rock features except for the back. Lots of packed sand and clay. So it's fast with a lot of tiny jumps. Also, I rode it right after a storm blew through and it was well drained. So props to the trail builders. There were a few substantial limbs that just came down. Heads up- even short folks should be prepared to duck criss-cross limbs & 1"-2" trees. Nobody was here when I parked, but about 10 were in or heading in when I was leaving. All in all, it was a fun first ride.
