The 2006 Trail forms part of the best route up Ascension Mountain at Helena. Starting from the Beattie Street trailhead you would start climbing on the Prickly Pear Trail (easy), then the Easy Rider Trail (an easy 4wd track - not very steep), then the 2006 trail. From the top of the 2006 Trail it's a short ride/push to the summit of Mount Ascension for stunning views to the north over Helena.

The 2006 Trail is steep in places - the gradient varies a lot. It's a two-way shared trail.

This singletrack winds to the top of Mount Ascension by way of low-grade switchbacks. The beauty of this trail is suprising, and it looks like fun in both directions!
