I have a biased opinion but shouldn’t durango get more credit for how big this sport has become.

The Palisade Plunge is being built from the top of Grand Mesa to the town of Palisade. 32 miles 6000′ descent. I can’t wait for this one! Grand Mesa is an awesome, cool riding area but mosquitoes are bad in summer, 300+ lakes.

I’m partial to Sedona, I loved the trails and area so much that I bought a house there. Lot’s of trailheads right in town, so you don’t need to carry a bike in the car.

Seems like a good place to ask for input on a MTB vacation. Wife and I are 50. Son is 14. August vacation plans have fallen through because of COVID crap so I’m trying to come up with other ideas we can do that are low risk. We love to hike (have done 15-20 mile day trip hiking in the east in ADK and the AT), but we’ve been getting into Mountain Biking alot lately. Looking for suggestions on a place where we can do both. Wife isn’t that into MTB’ing. She’d be fine on Intermediate trails. We’re NOT looking for downhill stuff. Looking for scenery that’s out of this world, bike rental is a must (we’re not going to fly out our own bikes), and do some hiking on the side. Thinking UTAH, but open to suggestions. Want to focus our search in the West as we’ve never been there before. Thanks!
