Mountain Biking Cathedral Rock Trail

*****   Add a review
#31 of 404 mountain bike trails in Arizona
#837 in the world

Start off on the Bell Rock trail, go about 1.25 to 1.5 miles untill you locate the tunnel under Hwy 179 ( kinda hard to find without a map ). Go through the tunnel to start this fast rolling trail with some good sized drops on a few of the down hills.

This is really just a feeder trail that gets you up to mid-level of Cathedral Rock and ties in to one of my favorites, the Templeton.

Another Sedona classic. A must ride. Technical yet very ridable with more amazing scenery.

Definitely a sweet ride, and beautiful scenery. Started off on the Bell Rock Pathway, took Templeton Trail to the drop into Oak Creek, swam at Buddha, then hooked up with the Baldwin Loop. Rode Baldwin counter-clockwise; I think it would be better clockwise. We grabbed paved portin back along Verde Valley School Rd. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable ride. Slickrock in some spots and great fun near BRP and some of the offshoot trails on the way out. Must do.

The name of this trail can be a bit confusing. The trail described is essentially the Templeton Trail. What is now known as the Cathedral Rock Trail is essentially a hiking trail ... unless you can bike up the face of a cliff.

It is imposssible to overstate the physical beauty that accompanies this ride. The singletrack is also fantastic. Oh yeah, the slickrock is pretty cool as well. And then there's Buddah Beach. Don't forget the connection to the Baldwin trail that you can use to add a few extra miles of techncial goodness. This one is an A+ even by Sedona standards.

One of the two "must rides" in Sedona. Great combination of everything, dirt singletrack, slickrock, tech sections, etc. Serious exposure on the switchbacks down to Oak Creek, totally rideable, just be cautious!!!
