Mountain Biking Buckwheat Knob / 122

*****   Add a review
#133 of 538 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
#2,495 in the world

The last of "Satan's Staircase," this is a crazy-steep push up to the top of Buckwheat Knob. Once to the top of the knob, the trail flattens out a little, climbs a little more gradually, and then descends to the intersection with Avery Creek.

Or if you decide to descend it back towards FS 477, prepare to get your butt behind the saddle as it drops downhill quickly!

This trail is 1.5 miles in one direction.

Pretty rad trail that has a short climb from the avery creek/club gap/ black mtn junction, and then proceeds to undulate only slightly until you get to a sick washed out steep downhill similar to avery creek that dumps you out to forest road.
