Easy, fast singletrack route back to the visitor center in Dead Horse Point State Park with some not too technical slickrock sections on the way.

Pretty views, nice place to bring kids. Old school mult use trail that's really widened out and beat to hell. You'll like this if you want to just take your time, chill, sit on some overlook ledges and take it all in. If you want to rip singletrack save your twenty bucks and ride elsewhere.

Fantastic ride for intermediate riders, and the views are to die for. Very clearly marked.

This trail has some of the best scenery in the Moab area! A fun trail with little elevation changes and few techy sections. Has some good challenges for an intermediate rider, especially on Twisted Tree & the west side of Prickly Pair.

I suggest you run the trail counter clockwise for the most fun.

Great beginner trail with some amazing views. Not the most exciting single track but a great warm up ride or a nice place to for a picnic lunch.

My wife and I do an annual trip to the sw where I ride and she explores archeological sites. Every trip she agrees to ride for one day and I do the archeological thing for a day. We rented her a good bike and she totally fell in love with the sport. This trail was a little harder that I expected but that worked out great because it challenged my wife but not too much. With the full suspension she had she handled the terrain like a pro and had a blast. I also had a great time and it was a pleasure to see her loving the sport that I have such a passion for. She now wants to get a bike to start riding at home.

I live in Utah, but this was my first time riding in the Moab area. This turned out to be a great place to do it. They've apparently made a bunch of new trails recently, as the original trail summary I read only included the 3 loops in the eastern half. I did a 12 mile loop around most of the perimeter. In the beginning, I was a bit leary of the slickrock and walked in a couple spots, but by the end my confidence level had improved enough that I was really enjoying myself. There are a few places where you do have to get off and walk due to deep sand. The trails are well marked, including maps with a smiley face showing where you are at each junction.

This was my first ride in Moab, and it was one of my favorites. The views make it an absolute must do. I think they are better than any overlook in Canyonlands or Arches. There were definitely some rocky sections. I took the clockwise route and was thankful that I did as it seemed to just get better as I went. I kept waiting for a really big climb that never came as I felt I'd gone down a lot more than I went up!

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a trail that most hardcore riders would consider a must do. However, for what it is rated as, this trail is awesome. It's a great area/loop for lower intermediates. I disagree with the beginner rating as a whole (Bar M is a beginner trail) due to some ledgy, rocky areas. this was a FUN area to ride with the family. We saw a group of Western Spirit guides out there tearing it up as well so even the local experts like this area.

    Awesome trail, beautiful scenery!

Don't be fooled by the reviews. It is not a beginner trail. Yes there are real easy and fast sections but when people start talking about walking sections, it's not easy anymore. You can ride it on a hardtail, but kids and older adults will be walking some sections. There are a few technical slickrock sections. Just be careful. The amazing views add to the difficulty.

Wow! What a great trail! Must ride!

I am an intermediate rider and my boyfriend is a beginner (this was probably his 20th total ride). This ride really is the best of both worlds...you can be an advanced/amazing mtn biker, but still really love this ride for the *killer* views, plus there are a couple of sections of advanced slick rock (we walked them). If you're a beginner, this trail (to quote my bf) "made me feel like a rockstar." He didn't have to get off his bike much and was really able to bomb some sections that he maybe didn't before.

This is a MUST ride if you're in this area of Utah! Really, I can't comment enough on the beautiful views!

Deadhorse is an easy trail with great views. I took the inlaws on this trail and they've never ridden before. Not alot of climbing or downhill, but a good scenic trek. Mostly beginners for this trail.

This trail is an astonishing achievement--a novice-friendly trail that should be entertaining to just about everyone. While it is beginner-frienly, there will be one mandatory dismount and a couple other probables for a new rider, but these are the type to challenge and encourage rather than abuse and discourage. The scenery is also most impressive, even by Moab standards. I expected good from the other reviews; what I got far exceeded that!

This trail was perfect for my first Moab ride. A great introduction to slickrock before tackling the crazy stuff. Easy, but not boring by any means, and the viewpoints are just spectacular. The entire loop is 9 miles, so either lap it twice, or use it as a warm-up before going on to something else.

Supergreat beginner area in Moab. Take a break from the rocks and deadly drop offs and go here. Nice visitors center with food and drink. Bathrooms and good views. Trails are well marked, as there are only 3 there. Total trail lenght about 9 miles. Do 2 laps. Open and exposed riding.

    Reviewing Big Chief:
    *****

Great beginner trail with no dabs. The eastern side of the trail is more rocky and the western side is more hardpack dirt. $10 entrance fee. Difficult to get lost as there are few trails and signs at each intersection. Not very technical at all. Good views at overlooks.

Part of the Intrepid Trail System in Dead Horse Point State Park, the Big Chief Loop is the more challenging of the 3 trails here. Outstanding views of Canyonlands and Lockhart Basin mixed with fun singletrack make this a must ride for anyone visiting the area.

    Yep, what Maddslacker said.
This is actually a great trail, the 3 different length options make it do-able for just about any riding ability. This would be a good choice for some one who is completely new to MTB, someone who is completely new to Moab or both. A little sand, a little slickrock and lots of scenery its the perfect Moab sampler to see if they want to get into it more. Being several hundred feet above most of the other trails in the area the temps here are always a few degrees cooler than elsewhere. Plus the added altitude means more trees and shade for the brutally hot days of summer.
