Mountain Biking Circle O Trail

****   Add a review
#75 of 691 mountain bike trails in Utah
#1,946 in the world

It is 100% slickrock, on top of Entrada sandstone. Once you get in there, you will see the painted bike tire trail marker. Some sections the painted trail marks has worn and blended into the rocks, so you might have to stop and look for the trail. Great scenery because you are riding right next to the famous Arches National Park. Overall it is an easy ride if you are comfortable with the Slickrock Practice Loop.

Getting there
From Moab, drive 10 miles north from the Colorado River on 191. When you see the Gemini Bridges parking area, look for a gravel road on the opposite side. Turn onto the gravel road and immediately go right, then right again into the parking area. There is a fee, I think it was about $5. You need to ride part of the Bar M trail, so the shortest total ride that includes the Circle O will be about 10 miles.

Great first slick rock trail. Well marked. I saw teen riders and adults. Don't bring a beginner! Requires full concentration. No shade so bring water!

Similar ride to Rockin A but not quite as rough with a little more technical stuff. It does have some awesome views so take a few minutes to look up from the line and take in the sights.

Not only is this a good intro to slick rock riding it is a fun confidence builder. It isn't a flow trail but staying on the line will keep you engaged in the task at hand.

I love this trail. It was my first introduction to slick rock and first love is always sweetest! Great ride and stunning views.

As others have said, nice practice before hitting slickrock. Slick rock is actually "slicker" than Bar O, but slickrock ends up being the more challenging trail. Nice add-on when riding the BRANDS system.

Great practice on slick rock since it is all slick rock. Great views. Doesn't have much flow to it which makes me like rockin A a little more for the area but you might as well ride both.

A good, pretty technical trail in Moab Brands, but there are definitely better options for a more fun ride. It is an easier version of Slickrock; just a line on a rock that you can follow or go away from.

All slickrock, great views, anti-flowy which to me got a little annoying, you could never really relax into the ride or flow at all.

A good slickrock trail to try out before hitting the real Slickrock trail.
Circle O has great scenery and is family friendly but challenging enough for all but the more advanced riders. Following the painted line was fairly easy. A good trail to do if you don't have a lot of time.

Love the slickrock. It is so different than back home in the Midwest. I thought the trail was layed out well, with technical challenge but nothing crazy hard.

Great loop on all slickrock. Get's a little tiring after awhile. Make sure you've got some good padding on your rear end. Like riding on Mars. Fun ride and I'd recommend checking it out.

All slickrock and very well marked with a white line. No dabs or dismounts and I did it wet. No major climbs or downhills, no loose rock and very little sand. Did this during Outerbike Festival.

Part of the Moab Brands Mtn. Bike Trails, this is all slickrock with a rust colored line painted throughout the entire trail. No real suprises, however, you are on the border of Arches National Park which has some amazing views. This loop is 3 miles.
