Mountain Biking Baby Steps Singletrack Loop 1

****   Add a review
#96 of 691 mountain bike trails in Utah
#2,644 in the world

Beginner-friendly singletrack, wide-open slickrock sections, and cool geologic features like overhanging ledges characterize the Baby Steps Loop 1. Intermediate and advanced riders won't be bored though: all you need to do is ramp up the speed to make this loop a blast. In addition, it provides great desert views of the surrounding mountains, so be sure to bring the camera!

Getting there
From the southern trailhead, follow the Klondike Bluffs 4x4 Trail, keeping right to stay on it at its intersection with Dino-Flow. Then, eventually turn left onto the Klondike Bluffs to Baby Steps Connector. Once you reach the Baby Steps 4x4, start onto that. The singletrack loop should appear on the left.

    I thought Baby steps lived up to its square/diamond rating, it was a lot of fun if you hit it fast, including some decent jumps and drops, with some great views

    The trails in this network have also adopted the marking system of painted lines on the slickrock. Here they have been color coded by trail;

    Klondike Bluffs; White.
    Baby Steps; Blue.
    Mega Steps; Green.
    Little Salty; Yellow.
    EKG; Orange.

    This is some decent singletrack for after you have hit the more famous Moab trails. Link it with Klondike Bluffs and be sure to do the short hike at the top for an amazing view into Arches NP. Also watch for dinosaur tracks in the slickrock on Klondike Bluffs.

    Being relatively new to the MB world I thought this trail rocked! You have to get to the point where you park your bike and hoof it up to the scenic area...it backs up to Arches north side, so the views are spectacular. My husband and I really enjoyed this ride!

    This one was a bit disappointing. There were a couple fun, technical sections, but much of the trail was hard to follow, much of it was sandy, and all of it was relatively uninteresting by Moab standards. This one looked like Moab trying to be Fruita and falling hopelessly short.
