Mountain Biking Rustlers Loop

****   Add a review
#134 of 1,345 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#918 in the world

Suggested route: Clockwise loop. Trail is a great warm up for Mary's Loop/Horsethief Bench but offers really great cliffside views of the Colorado river. There is also signage during the ride that helps educate new riders about ethics and skills of mountain biking.

One of my top three favourite rides in the world. The Horsethief Bench drop in is bananas, but don't let this stop you from riding this trail. Lots of
Super flowy Singletrack peppered with short technical sections. Unbelievable views of the Colorado river abound. Ride Mary's loop to Horsethief Bench, ack to Mary's to Steve's Connector, Steve's Loop, Moore Fun for an epic 30 Km ride. Moore's Fun is advanced. Skip it if you don't like walking.

Great trail to get a flatlander riding Kokapelli Trails. Great trail for a beginner but the views you get of The Colorado River make it worthwhile for everyone. Good warm up before going on to the other trails.

One of the finest beginner loops! 3.5 miles of skill building trail. Fun for experienced riders too. Perfect way to start your ride before hitting the other loops in the area. Enough ledges and rocks to challenge you before a swooping final roll back to the TH.

This is a really fun and easy loop that the whole family can enjoy. You can get some fun speed. If you don't like the ending to this loop, than you do not like mountain biking! It is one of the funnest and flowiest trails out there.

Rustlers is one of the funnest beginner trails in the Grand Valley. The trail will give the new rider every aspect of terrain to practice on. Start out with the short but steep climb and proceed counter clockwise. The final downhill is fast and fun.

It's rated as green, but it's not boring. It also has cool signs to help newbies on riding technique. It is very fun and has great views of the river.

We rode this a couple times just to check it out. Kinda fun, but watch out for small (6 year-old) kids. It's for beginners and you shouldn't ride it on a weekend unless you want to get smoked by said 6-year-olds.

Great warm-up or sweet ending to a hard day of riding on area trails. Perfect place for a beginner, or to try out new equipment. Awesome views of the colorado river make this a must ride for any level of rider.

I find Rustler's Loop to be a nice tack on trail at the end of a longer ride rather than a warm-up. Flowy section at the start that you can blast thru a couple of gentle up and down sections in the middle and a fast end. One of the few trails in the winter that is very ridable on snowpack (a great time and helps bridge the gap until spring riding starts).

A great family ride or a great ride. Very basic trail with enough fun factor for the advanced and a great experience for the novice. Fun for all and all for fun. Good warm up ride if you are riding Horsetheif Bench and beyond or want to tack on some miles at the end of a tour of Kokopelli's.

Like a lot of people, I only intended to use this to add a few miles to my Horsethief ride but the big surprise was that it's actually a really fun loop. There are interpretive signs that give you tips on how to be a better rider, though nobody I saw was reading them. Still, it's a fun little loop that compared to the Vegetarian is a little more interesting and scenic. I'll ride this again if I'm in the area and just want a quick little easy ride.

This has to be the best beginner trail in existence, as well as the perfect introduction to Fruita. What's more, it can also be fun for an advanced rider--just see how fast you can take the corners. The trail has great flow throughout, and gerat scenery to boot.

A relatively short piece of prime singletrack for everyone to enjoy, with decent flow. Nice views of the Colo. River.

A fun little warm up ride to hit before heading over to Mary's and Horsethief Bench. The last bit of the trail is fast and smooth. Great trail for beginners that has signs with tips on them placed throughout the ride.

A great, short ride. I frequently will stop and hit this as I am cruising on I-70 between Denver and Moab. Not super technical, but enough to keep it fun. Highly recommended for beginners because the fun factor will stay high while giving them a chance to improve skills.
