Mountain Biking Cerro Gordo Trail

****   Add a review
#1 of 37 mountain bike trails in Puerto Rico
#1,369 in the world

This trail is in Bosque de Breas in Cerro Gordo. The terrain dries fast since it is right in front of the
beach and can be used in any weather condition. Has some fun and fast downhills and is mostly
single track with lots of roots. Vegetation is tropical with lots of palm trees. Views of open ocean and
a strong ocean breeze hits you most of the ride. Great for begginers and intermed.

My 13 year old son and I rode this trail twice in one day. Great trail with several challenging short ascents and fun downhill sections. Beautiful views! Highly recommended.

Heck no this is no beginners trail. Singletrack with amazing views of the ocean and cliffs. Rode clockwise starting near ocean and finish on fence back to parking. 6Km total distance. Plenty of parking and direction signs. A lot of roots, loose beach sand on turns, tight spaces between palm trees and some crazy uphills make this an intermediate trail. No way a beginner will not suffer here.

Generally nice trail & well maintained. Good enough for beginners looking to improve on some technical skills (roots, singletrack, climbs)

This isn't a road for beginners (thats my opinion). Have a lots of roots and some aggressive downhills. It's a road for once in a while cause sand covers all the bike and inside the gears. Uphills are m9derate but a few of them are very difficult cause of tge roots. But it offers quite a challenge for those who love a rocky like trail. Nice even after a heavy rain.

Great coast ocean view, too many roots and hard stone on the way. If you like plenty of curves and challenging tight trails this is yours to try.

I think this one is definitely NOT for begginers. It still takes the shit out of me everytime. Is one of my favorites too. Pretty rewarding.

I really enjoyed this trail. Coming from Colorado and riding the trails around Denver mainly, it was great to see a change of scenery. The palm branches across trail and dodging coconuts was just plain fun. The scenery was gorgeous. The trail itself was well maintained and very ride-able for just about anyone. We did two laps with a guide on rental bikes (was missing my Tallboy!) and it was a good challenge with all the humidity; but lots of extra oxygen! Lots of up and downs but nothing long/sustained either way. Guide said the pros do it in 17 minutes - there's a good challenge for you! Highly recommended! * Review edited 2/18/2012

Great trails, has lots of ups and down, roots and some technical sections. Lost of fun, most people give it 2-3 rides for a good workout. The trails is marked and you can access it once at The Cerro Gordo beach drive all the way to the camping area and you will see the trail entrance which is bordering the gate.

This is a great trail. This one is located on a mountain right in front of the beach. It has some tough climbs with some twisty sections. This trail drains amazingly fast. It can even be ridden while it's raining and you will get very little puddles. The only thing to look out for is falling coconuts.
