Rider questions

Q: Would this trail ever stay open during winter months. I was looking at maybe trying fat tire this winter season
A: I think AV focuses their attention on the ski hill during winter months. You may want to check out Lake Geneva Canopy Tours nearby for fat biking trails in the area.

Q: It's open and conditions were great.

Traverses the ski hill. Lots of fast fun sections. Big time leg workout. Seems like they consistently add nice obstacles. Open more often than anything else in the area. Cheap entry fee.

Alpine rocks ! This trail is open the most of any . Usually dries quickly . There are 2 loops and a couple short downhill shortcuts to get you back to the beginning with less climbing. I love the different bridges , drops, rock gardens, wooden features and berms!

You get rewarded with the incline with flowy down hill obstacles. And their Facebook page does a great job keeping everyone up to date with trail conditions and events.

In-laws live in Waukesha, and we love taking our bikes back and hitting the trails...we have hit the Milwaukee area trails, and they are good, especially Minooka....but ALPINE VALLEY is not even comparable to any other rides in Milwaukee, like 10 times the trail, we are talking richter scale 10 times better, the climbs, techy, jumps, rocks, berms, bridges, etc...not for beginners, or faint of lungs....

    It was/is awesome!!

    Well done Alpine!!

Awesome trail system with dedicated maintenance workers that allow for riding sometimes even a few hours after significant rainfall. I would recommend only inviting somewhat experienced riders, as there is a decent amount of climbing involved. You can always check the trail status simply by looking at the facebook page. If the profile picture for the facebook page says "trails open" then they are open. If it says trails closed, they are closed. Really simply. Daily fee is $2, annual is only $20. Well worth the money if you want a challenging trail system open even when the ground is wet.

Trails start with a huge climb. There is some gooey mud in spots.

AMAZING trails. Super fast and flowy, rad features, and beautiful scenery. There's a short loop (what I'm assuming is the 5 mile loop, haven't ridden that section) and also a longer loop thats about 7 1/2 - 8 miles long, depending on if you hit the expert section or not. 10/10 would recommend this trail.

This ride has some of the best elevation gain anywhere in SE Wisconsin. Some long uphill climbs are compensated for with nice decents. There are a few obstacles, with some plank builds. The property owners ask for a reasonable $2 day, or $20/yr pass.

Some good climbing here but worth it for the downs! Well maintained, doesn't close much like the other trails in south eastern WI. They held an Enduro race with WORS and it was a blast!

Smooth singletrack with lots of quick turns and elevation changes! Small hazards here and there, but mostly flowing. Private ski resort, fill out waiver at trailhead so trails stay free and open!

Long loop is 8.5 miles. Lots of winding single track with some good short climbs. I have trouble calling this advanced when places like kettle moraine and lgct are intermediate but you probably have to be in decent shape to hit this so maybe. Lots of fun. Good local trail. Very well marked. Extremely well maintained

This trail kind of popped up out of nowhere but is super fun! Good flow, the climbs will make you work, not too many rocks or roots which limits its technicality but there's enough to keep you on your toes. Definitely a trail to ride if you're in the area

A good cardio Trail. I have to admit I'm in terrible shape. Some tight switchbacks and obstacles made the downhill nice. Maybe later in the year I can enjoy it better.

I was blown away!. The first climb really keeps you on your toes, but once you've made it up that it's all smiles. Jumps, berms, and rollers make the downhills exciting, and switchbacks on the uphills make them challenging too. You will not be disappointed!

Love riding here, you get a lot of bang for your buck and time. Total trail length is closer to 8 miles per loop now if you take the long way. Lots of fast descents and lung busting climbs. There are quite a few decreasing radius corners to stay on your toes and your brakes! The trail is always getting tweaked lengthened and improved so it's always getting better.
