Very narrow and tight turns. Intermediate to advance singletrack. Some sandy fire roads. Several diamonds with some awesome moguls. You better have good slow speed handling skills. The trail is new and is somewhat soft. Needs to be packed down. There are descent signs throughout. Good short workout.

Update: Stay off closed section (East side) which was routed on private property. Closed section is clearly marked and blocked.

Getting there
Take 495 to Exit 63 Ocean Ave. (North), follow to Bicycle Path Road and make a right, go to Independance Hill Drive and make a left (Town of Brookhaven Town Hall), go to the end and park near the windmill, trail entrance is to the left of the low white building (mulched path leads to trail head/kiosk).

    My go to trail on LI awesome fun flowing trail. Enough climbs to get your workout but mostly just fun add Overton to make for a 2 hour plus blast. Overton is best found the first time with someone who knows the connector its the only part of this trail that is not well marked.

    This place is about as fun as it gets for Long Island riding. At 12 miles, it's quite extensive for the area where it is located. There's a lot of flowy, sometimes twisty, trail packed into this spot. CLIMB has done an excellent job building, maintaining and expanding these trails. However, they are a bit liberal with the black diamond designations throughout Long Island. The black diamond sections here, like most other LI trail networks, are appropriate for most intermediate riders, with basically no technical features to speak of. However, the flow of this place, and the speed you can carry, makes it a real gem. The intersections can be a bit confusing your first few times here, as all of the "black diamond" loops come off of the main trail and return behind where you left the main trail, meaning you re-ride a small section of the main trail. What's good about this is that it is easy to repeat a loop if you want. Over the years the sandy spots in low lying areas have gotten a bit more extensive. This is a must-ride when on LI.

    Rode on hard packed snow today. Best riding ive ever done. The snow was better than dry conditions-somehow there was better traction. Fyi i ride 27.5 standard tires. Great day! I rode all 11 miles with no problems

    Very good flow and a great workout with virtually zero tech. Well maintained, but there are many trees that still need to be cut down in some areas. They are just crying out to eat a collar bone.

    Very flowy, well built trails. Definitely can get a long distance workout in. No real man-made obstacles (log piles, jumps, drops, etc). One small pump area that was fun.

    Very well built. Super flowy. Can keep your speed up most hills. And down hills you can most of the time keep your speed with good burms. Very well packed. Rode in the semi wet winter conditions and it was still wonderfull and couldnt ask for better traction. I definitely had fun.

    I enjoyed myself. They are really nice cut trails, smooth and flowy, packed nicely. Not very technical compared to what im use to in West Virginia. You can really keep your speed with the burms. Its a fun intermediate ride. I give it 5 stars solely on the location. They coudnt have built the trails any better for their location.

    Probably my favorite LI park. It's tight and fast.. I wouldn't consider it advanced, but it's super fun. I take some of my friends new to MTB there because I can have fun going fast, and they don't feel overwhelmed with hard stuff.. it's also impossible to get lost.. very well-marked trails and maps in the middle. Once you ride it a few times you'll know how to hit every trail without stopping.

    In my opinion, this is the best trail on Long Island. Growing up in the area, I never would have expected this. It's a fun, fast, winding trail that I ride every chance I get. It's well maintained, never too crowded, and has a mix of trails. Just great, flowing fun.

    Visiting here from Western Colorado I wasn't expecting Long Island to have much in the way mtb trails. Boy was I wrong. There are a number of good trail systems built specifically for riding on the island that are all well marked and maintained. Have to say nice job to the local CLIMB group. Of the trails that I rode this was my favorite. While all the areas are similar with tight turns and narrow singletrack set in dense forest, Glacier Ridge offered a bit more. There are some more open sections allowing for a bit more speed and some nice hills and fun features. My favorite section in here would have to be What Goes Up Must Come Down. Trail systems here can feel like a maze, but are well marked and the locals are friendly, offering directions and combination route suggestions. I would definitely ride here again.

    Fun trails for sure! Some of the best and smoothest trails I have ridden in NY area. A bit sandy in places and very tight lines between trees-leave your bar ends at home. Trails are well marked and there is a trail map at 2 junctions for easy reference. Found the black diamond to be more intermediate than advanced... really not very technical and no real climbing other than frequent quick rises to get the heart rate up. Saw plenty of Walmart bikes so a hard tail or SS will work fine on these nicely groomed trails.

    I'm a visitor from VA and have been hitting some local trails on borrowed equipment. This is an outstanding trail for local area. I give it a 5 for the area. Sure, it's no Fruita or Moab, but it's a great network for LI. Intermediate and beginners will love this. Experts can make what they want from it. Ride your SS bike, or your carbon Xc bike or your WalMart special. Smooth well groomed trails. Fast and hard packed. It is currently Fall and there has been little rain recently. If it is real wet here maybe the trail conditions deteriorate? But it's perfect right now. Appears to be mostly sand and packed dirt so probably drains well. No ruts. There are some 2 track sections/fire road connectors but that doesn't detract from the system. Good signage and map stations on the trail help keep you oriented. The trail has decent flow with a few technical challenges which include some little drop offs, snaking banked s-turns, short climbs, tight tree lined sections, switchbacks.     Pound for pound, probably the greatest official Long Island Mountain Bike course that there is. The main loop is about 4 miles but sections of it are tight and there's some elevation changes that may be too much for a beginner.

    There's just over 9 miles of diamonds, both single and double. There is constant up and down flow which is great for plenty of fun when riding or trying to increase your time for a good workout. There's some small logs to roll over, some rocks from small to large rollers to ride over, and plenty of tight twisty flow turns. There's some moguls as well. This is a great trail to learn the technique of standing when riding and turning. If not you're going to be sorry as you will get banged up from some trees. Watch for some stops along the side of the trails that can give you a good endo toss.

    The trail is setup like none other. Everything loops around and you can do a diamond two or three times if you want without having to do another diamond. You can ride this trail with a few inches of snow on the ground as well.

    Total miles is close to 13.5.When you're on Long Island and are in shape this trail flows like no other. Come get some, you won't be disappointed!

    It is maintained by an unbelievable individual named Hitch. If you see him working in there thank him for his efforts. The guy is amazing!
