Mountain Biking Twister

Alot of good twisty singletrack. There are a few good drops in the beginning but other than that there are just gradual elevation changes. Flows nicely and you can really pick up some speed.

Fun to do on my 27.5. Lots of twists & turns. Add it to the rest of Santos trails to fill your day. Stay away from Vortex unless you want plenty of air. All other trails can be done by most riders, even beginners. Rode with a newbie who managed all the other trails & this was only his 3rd mtb ride. Rented bike from Santos Bike shop.....trails start from their car park !

One of the best intermediate trails at Santos. Good length at 3 miles found at the Vortex TH. Flowy trail with many curves and some good hills at the beginning. Worth riding!

I enjoyed all the trails at Santos. Twister was one of the better ones and decievingly longer than it appears on the apps.

This is one of my favorite trails in the Santos area, it has a fast flow to it, mainly on flat ground. Very few roots and rocks though in some small areas the ground is typical Florida sugar sand, but they are few and far between.

This is y all time favorite cross country trail after being on over 30 different trails. It is hard packed, has a few nice banks, and a lot of fun features in one section.

A good intermediate trail surrounding the Vortex area. One of the longer trails near the Santos TH. Lots of curves with a few table tops on one end.

Twister is appropriately named. Not a straight line to be found on the trail, and that's the joy of this ride. You will likely rub some shoulders on trees if you aren't picking your lines carefully, as there are a lot of skinny sections with small trees. But everything is easily navigable if you're paying attention. There are a few hazards, but nothing advanced. Some roots, a few short rocky sections, and an occasional felled (small) tree on the path.

There are a lot of turns. You'll never stop turning. Some turns are bermed and let you maintain your speed. Others require a little finesse to roll through at higher speeds. Overall, it's plenty fast and offers very little to slow you down. The roller hills near the beginning feel great, and don't require much effort to get them started. Visibility is good for the climbs, and only once (I think) was I dumped off a hill to speed into a fast turn that wasn't bermed. So there was a section or two that I had to brake where I would rather have maintained some speed. That could just be my inexperience, but the braking felt inopportune once or twice, if that makes sense.

It's mid-fall, so the trail was fairly littered with pine straw in some places, but the trail was very visible, and only a few sections were covered. This isn't a flat ride, but there didn't appear to be any challenging elevation changes either. This trail nears the Back Door red trail into the Vortex free ride area about 2 miles in. You can see it on your left, via a large rocky hillside and a gate. Walk across to Back Door, follow it left (southish) to the freeride area and go left past the dirt jumps for a fast route back to the Vortex trailhead. This area of Back Door has no challenging features. Just a few roots and rocks.

Twister is a flowing ride with lots of turn, lots of skinnys, and one low-clearance felled tree that I had to duck under (nice feature). You will enjoy it!

The trail is slightly winding with lots of tree cover. I didn't get to ride it in its full capacity since it was leaf littered when I rode it. There are a couple of slight ups and downs at the end, but a beginner could easily ride this trail. It is more or less built for speed in my opinion, which is what I enjoy.

Twister is very fun, in either direction, Although I wish it was one way or alternated directions each day or week or something. As other have said not super technical, untill you get er up to speed, that really works your cornering skills and those moderate features become more intense.

I agree that this is one of the more fun trails at Santos. It is not particularly challenging and while there are a couple of table tops, a beginner could definitely have fun on the this trail. It is one of the longer ones so you could get a rhythm going. Fun.

I absolutely love Twister. I rode a few of the red (advanced) trails, but I had the most fun on Twister (intermediate). This trail was a winding, quick-paced, weave through the forest, which also had some fun hills, and even a few crazy steep, approximately 10-foot high mounds back-to-back, which made it like a little rollercoaster section.

I love Twister! Super fast and flowy with sweet banking turns twisting through the Santos trail system. Plus, it's long, giving you plenty of time to enjoy yourself.

One of my favorites in Santos. There are a couple of good drops off of some mounds in the beginning and then you get into some fast twisty singletrack. Well maintained and very fun
