Trail #3.
This is one of the trails that Dupont is famous for! The trail begins with a
rocky singletrack climb up from the Little River trail, and gradually the
amount of rock in the trail increases until suddenly you are climbing on
straight slickrock! The trail tilts uphill at a ridiculous angle, and rock cairns
are your only guide that really distinguish the trail from the rest of the rock
face. This is a brutally steep climb, but because of the insane traction on
the slickrock, it is very rideable! Enjoy the amazing views as you grind your
way up to the top!

airport and Brevard. Go approximately 15 miles until NC 280 becomes US 276.
Follow this into and through Brevard (staying on four lane hwy). Go
approximately 9 miles past Brevard into Cedar Mtn, NC. Go left onto Cascade
Lake Road. Go about 2 miles and you will see the parking area on the left.

Awsome trail - tough climb, enduro decent. Only reason not 5 stars is because the trail is short.
| ThankThis trail is definitely one of the most unique tracks you'll come across in the Southeast. I loved how it started as a high speed slickrock descent and then transitioned into a technical, blown out singletrack run down the rest of the mountain's vertical. Just make sure your brakes work!

| ThankGot a taste for slickrock in Arizona and was thrilled to find a little in my own home state. I was surprised at how much of it was rideable for me at my intermediate level. I enjoyed it so much that I had to ride down twice! (I came up Big Rock the 1st time; it also has nice views.)
I think the easier/less scary way to ride it is to climb the South slope, which is much steeper than the Eastern part and probably will entail a bit of hiking. Enjoy the views and explore the peak a bit before heading down the Eastern slope.
It's a little difficult to locate the trail in places because it's bare rock, but it's also hard to get too lost. Keep your eye out for the little rock cairns which mark the trail!

| ThankA short trail with a tough climb, but totally worth it. Great views at the top. This is that unique eastern slickrock. There's just not too many opportunities to ride this kind of terrain in the east. Not to be missed.
| ThankOne of the prettiest trails on the east coast! If you are in DuPont and are ready to do some steep climbing, don't miss this trail. The view from the top is worth it. The first half mile of climbing is the hardest. An easier descent compared to Big Rock, but still plenty of fun. Follow the rock piles and lighter coloration on the slick rock. It's pretty easy to stay on the trail if you look for the markers.

| ThankAwesome trail....Nice little piece of slickrock. Can be challenging depending on how agressive one rides it....My wife also enjoyed it thouroughly and she's a beginner(she took her time and played it cool).
| ThankThis trail is absolutely epic! I only rode it a week ago, but I already want to go back and do it again! The slickrock is just so fun to ride on, and the views from the trail are just phenomenal! Be sure to bring your camera!
This climb is definitely not for the faint of heart, though. It is steep and brutal, so bring your A-game! Definitely a black diamond for steepness and for some technical riding at the bottom.
