Klonzo Area

Very fun flowy trails with some tough climbs. There are some really fun sections of rolling downhill with rollers and small rock drops. Definitely not nearly the most technical ride in Moab, but if you are looking for something you can ride from the brand trails, this area is really fun.

What a fun place! Great flow for all skill levels. I will be returning to this track before I leave Moab.

This was a fun ride out after riding Dunestone, Cross Canyon, Secret Passage and a bit of Wahoo.

This is a fun trail!

This trail, and adjourning trails, are perfect for intermediates who want to do slick rock. Much easier than the famous Slickrock, with a better flow.

Like another reviewer, this system is more like a 3.5. I'm going with 3 simply because there are so many other awesome trails in Moab. Coming at this system from a x-country perspective, you can easily pack in the miles in this system. We actually started at the Brand Trails and accessed the Klonzo system via Zephyr. There were only a few sections that we didn't ride and a few that we did twice in order to piece together our ride. All in all, this system is a bit like the Brand Trails. For sure, some of the trails are unique and worth exploring. The design does make it easy to make your ride whatever length you want and it's well marked so you can just plan as you go if you wish. One specific opinion about the dedicated downhill trails (Gravitron in particular) is they weren't what they were hyped to be and just OK. Red Hot and Roller Coaster do have some fun downhill flow with some jumps if you wish, but don't go here thinking you'll get some amazing downhill runs if you are used to longer stuff like you find in the high mountains. With Zephyr and riding most all of the trails in Klonzo, we ended up with a deceptively high 3,600ft of climbing in 31 miles.

Moderately fun rock connector trail. They picked a good route over which to join trail systems.

Entertaining mix of slickrock and singletrack. Nothing really stands out, but it all works together nicely in a fun package.

Typical Klonzo trail: pleasantly easy and mildly fun.

It's not often I like an intermediate trail more than the advanced trails in a network, but Dunestone is easily my favorite in the Klonzo area. The rock, while not overly challenging, is very entertaining and the route bobs and weaves through the best features. It's really not long enough to be a 5 star trail, but it's so much better than the other 4 star trails in the area, I had to give it 5.

Very average singletrack, but it's the best way to access most Klonzo North trails.

The recent additions to the area up the ante just enough for me to give it four stars. Most of the trails are fairly mundane, but if you string together a ride that includes Gravitron, VertiGo, and Dunestone, there is much fun to be had.

Gravitron adds some spice to the Klonzo area. Think of it as Kessel Run on steriods with the dips being a little steeper, a little deeper, and showing some armor. Nothing death defying, but definitely a little more challenging than the rest of the Klonzo area.

Vertigo gives visitors to the Klonzo area something a little more challenging to spice up their ride. There's nothing truly challenging here, but it is above the usual mix in Klonzo technical challenge.

One of the best trails in the Klonzo trail system, with some very entertaining rock.
