Mountain Biking Hurricane Cliffs
#73 of 691 mountain bike trails in Utah
The Hurricane Cliffs trail system has a plethora of desert riding for any mountain biker. Those who have an affinity for epic rides will be pleased to find one of the best epic routes out there: the Hurricane Rim Loop, a 24 mile IMBA Epic. For beginners, awesome trails like Cryptobionic and More Cowbell will provide a thrilling place to progress. Lastly, intermediate riders will be able to combine parts of the Rim Loop with other trails to create a loop of their own.
Overall, the Hurricane Cliffs system is desert riding, fast, fun, and flowy, at its best.

While going east on State Street in Hurricane, turn right onto Main Street (Utah Highway 59). Then, turn left at the next intersection to stay on 59. As you climb the hill, the parking lot should appear on the left.

Love this whole area - this is a great way to turn JEM into a loop. Beautiful views and some ripping sections of singletrack. Lots of whoops, so riding south > north is best.
Thank |Overall this was a fun little ride. We spent most of our time on gooseberry mesa which is a very different trail network. The flow and fun was there on the downhill, but the slight and gradual climb up until the trek onto the mesa is monotonous. I'm used to all mountain riding with big climbs, but this slow steady climb wore on me. Good features and well built trail, just not to my riding style.
Thank |Gould's Rim alone out and back is not the most exciting trail. Great views! Rocky! Some long drop offs. When combined with JEM, Gould's Trail and Hurricane Rim, you can ensure a nice flowy loop.
Thank |Wonderful views, but step off the bike to enjoy them as there are plenty of sudden rock ledges to navigate, and plenty of exposure in some sections. Some decent climbs. Fun in either direction. Pair it up with Gould and JEM for a fun loop of 20 miles that drops you right back onto the road above town.
Thank |Spectacular scenery of the Virgin river - including some large exposures.
Thank |Occasional difficult rocky sections.
Decent elevation gain.
Not as scenic or technical as Hurricane Rim.
