Mostly rolling singletrack. Clear, fast, smoothly packed trail. Great trail for beginners and time trial riders. One moderate climb on the intermediate loop.

If you like exposure, you've come to the right place. There are select places on this trail where off-camber trail skirting sizable drops are commonplace. Beyond those places, expect a fun advanced loop sporting creeks to cross, logs to hop, and descents to conquer. You won't be disappointed.

I had a pretty difficult time rating this trail. On one hand, it has almost no flow, is largely unrideable, beats the crap out of you, and takes no prisoners. On the other, it's worth it just to see how far Jeff Lenosky had to push himself to clear this trail (take a look at his Trail Boss video) and to see how far you can push yourself. It's the classic rating dilemma: skill-pushing jank or grin-inducing flow? If you're one of the people looking for the jank, this is certainly the place.

    Reviewing Aynes Loop:

Aynes is definitely one of my favorite trails in the park. Although the climb can get tough, it's just easy enough for most intermediate riders to get by and gives you a good sense of accomplishment. As for the descent, expect some awesome riding back down the ridge with some technical features to keep you on your toes.

Its a great course for an more Moderate rider, It has great features!! The main thing that you will have to do a lot is climb. But when you get to the top it's pretty rewarding.

great trail system, Hobbs Hollow and Green Valley are must do! such a fun trails and in great condition. even after rain, I checked with park office and trails were open, they drain so well, only a couple wet spots next day. too bad its so far for me 4.5 hrs drive, but worth it every time

Super fun for all skill levels. More geared towards those who like to jump. Lots of jumps and jump variations all the way down. Be careful as a few are technical. Once you hit the bottom of the first down you have to climb back up for the second run. But again more than worth the effort as the second run has even more varieties. Between them both you have over 10 minutes of flowy bermy downhill fun. :)

Fast fast trail. Not technical. Not a whole lot of elevation other than heading up to hesitation point. The new hobbs hollow trail is awesome. Its great place to spend the weekend. You can connect brown county park and hoosier national forest to make for an epic day in the saddle.

Rode everything over two days, April 19 & 22, 2018. Went to the area for the Little 500. Conditions were almost perfect, just some wet spots in the corners. Enough to leave you muddy at the end of the day but not effect riding much. Great stuff, never knew Indiana had it! Rented bikes from HesitationPoint, great shop and great bikes.

Drove 4 hrs from Wisconsin to ride here on a warm 37 f Winter day . I wasn't disappointed! There are a lot of short climbs but fun downhills follows them! There is signs along the way but no maps, so bring a paper map or your phone if you need to figure out what to ride. I just ride and don't care .. lol The trails I rode were easy to intermediate. There were some rocks and roots , nothing to difficult here . It was awesome to rid in January and even more awesome the trails were in good condition!

Just finished the Brown County Epic ride in October and tried this trail at the grand opening. What can I say, it is fantastic. Ride it slower the first time to get a feel for the jumps and gaps, then get back to the top and go fast and hold on! This is a 5 mile long roller coaster you won't forget. It's also a one way trail starting at hesitation point so don't climb it from the bottom.

The trails are awesome, but the locals aren't that great. I checked this place out this weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the trails. I love flow trails and the Green Valley, Aynes and North Tower trails were awesome. Great flow, manageable climbs, a little bit of tech to keep it interesting. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to check out the other trails, so a return trip is a must.

My only problem was with the local riders. Everywhere I have ridden, when the trails are bi-directional, the rider traveling downhill supposed to yield to the rider coming uphill. The locals here do not follow this principal. They seem to prefer the "run the uphill traveling rider off the trail and curse at them while doing it" principal. On the Aynes loop alone, I was forced off trial on three separate climbs, in 3 miles, all by what appeared to be (judging from the bike specs and kit of the riders) experienced riders. I was also heckled by a rider, after heading back to my car after a 20-mile loop, who accused me of "giving up too soon." Who says that to someone they don't know and who has no idea how far someone has ridden or what the circumstances are?

    Couple other things to note:

The campgrounds here are huge and noisy. The sites are very close together and from what I can tell, the quiet hours from 11PM to 7AM is not observed or enforced. There are 400 campsites, so this is not a low-key area.

If you want, you can ride directly to the trails from your campsite, which is really nice.

Trails are very well-marked and they give you a map when you enter the park ($7 for IN residents and $9 for out-of-state plates.)

If you have your bikes on top of your car, play it safe and enter the park at the West gate. The 9' limit at the north gate has no room for error.

I'll definitely be back, but might try to make my return trip during the week when the trails would be less crowded with riders looking to set KOMs at the expense of other riders safety.

The best of the best in the Hoosier state. Great flow and not too many strenuous climbs. Usually a 30 mile ride!

Impressed with these Epic trails. Rode a couple days over the Labor Day weekend and had a blast. Sustained climbs, followed by nice fast downhills. Aynes and Green Valley were excellent trails. Even the greens were fun. Some roots, rocks, switchbacks and creek crossings all made for an excellent ride. Rented a Marin Pine Mountain 2 from Hesitation Point Bike Shop and it handled everything on the trails like a champ. Want to come back and ride here again. Miles of smiles.

Started near the pool area. Very fast and flowy. About 7 miles in some climbing. This is a must ride trail. One of the funniest I've ridden and I've ridden a few.
